Web Site Design, Development and Maintenance

Web Site Design

What is web site design?

From the client's perspective, it is the projection of the company's purpose and personality, whether professional, conservative, lighthearted, or futuristic. Once the design is set, it is usually a simple process to import and maintain the text and graphics which sell your product(s).

The first step is a review of your existing print media which, along with your logo and letterhead, give us your present "look and feel." If you wish to project a new internet-age image, however, we have talented graphics professionals who can create that new look. If you wish, you can then use these new design elements in future print and/or television advertising.

Web Site Development

This term "Development". What does that mean in plain English?

Web site development is essentially the programing component of the overall design. Like the motor in your car, this is what makes you web site operate. This can involve Database development, user tracking and various other "dynamic" aspects of the site. Online stores are a good example of a site that would require shoping carts, credit card procesing, and some type of database - all of which require some type of programming, or in other words, "Development"

Web Site Maintenance

Once my site is finished, how will I keep it up to date?

If we know ahead of time that you wish to update your site yourself, we will write the code to simplify the updating process. In order to do this, however, we require a clear understanding of which elements are permanent and which will be updated regularly. Estimates are based upon such an understanding, so be sure of your intent before requesting one.

We do offer maintenance contracts to those who are not interested in performing the task themselves. Pricing is determined by the frequency and number of changes and our hourly rates. However, the agreed-upon price will remain in effect for a period of two years, regardless of hourly rate increases.
